BILLS TO WATCH:
HB 999/SB 266 “Public Postsecondary Educational Institutions”
- Due to amendments, HB 999 and SB 266 are nearly the same in wording. On 4/27, SB 266 was heard for its second reading on the Senate floor. Several amendments were made but ultimately failed. It was then read for a third time and passed along party lines (aside from Senator Bradley [R], who voted against the bill) on 5/3. HB 999 was marked “Laid on Table” on 5/2.
HB 1445/SB 256 “Employee Organizations Representing Public Employees”
- After SB 256 was passed in the Senate, HB 1445 passed in the House on Wednesday and will be sent to the Governor’s office for signature.
