Legislative Summary:

HB 999/SB 266 “Public Postsecondary Educational Institutions”

  • SB 266 was passed in the Florida House. At the time of this posting, the bill has not yet been signed by the Governor. For more information about the detrimental effects of this bill, please review UFF’s Press Release.

HB 1445/SB 256 “Employee Organizations Representing Public Employees”

  • Both SB 256 and HB 1445 passed in the Senate and House. They are awaiting the Governor’s signature.

HB 311/SB 324 “Postsecondary Intellectual Freedom and Viewpoint Diversity”

  • Neither HB 311 nor SB 324 were moved, but the fight doesn’t end here. Contact your House and Senate representative to let them know you are watching how they are voting on these matters!
